97 Seabring Convertable Jxi 6v

Does anyone know how to the sequence to reset the service engine soon
light? I know with some Honda cars you hold down the odometer reset and
turn the car to the start position, the light will blink then go off.
Is there anything similar for the seabring?

The way to reset the lite is to fix the problem and then either clear it
with a scan tool or it will turn off on its own after so many good trips are
detected.

A true "scan tool" would maybe be overkill. A scan tool is able to read
sensor signals in real time. These days, you can buy a Code Reader, for
around $70 max. Scan tools are much more expensiove than code readers.
I have an Actron CP9125. It can read the codes and it has a function to
"turn off", or "Reset", the light.

SOME codes will go off after a certain number of successful driving
cycles without being "tripped", but I believe this only applies to
certain types of codes. I 'think" that some of the "HARD CODES" will
stay on until reset. I could be wrong though.

just turn the ignition from the off position to the on position (whe
the dash lights come on but the car does not start.
