Just bought the car. Original rearview mirror is the fancy, nearly
automatic, LED mirror.

I want to replace it with the standard mirror; however, I have been
unable to determine, from the dealer, if the standard also has the two
lights embedded in it that the fancy one has.

Since these lights are the only source of light in the cabin, I don't
want to lose them.

Anyone with a 99 jxi conv have a standard rearview mirror? Does it have
the lights?

TIA

Yes, the basic mirror has the two lights. But, why do you want to change if
there is no problem with the mirror in it?

Oh, I don't. Something has happened to it so that that mirror is always
'foggy'. I bought the car used and never ever saw the mirror function
properly. The dealer service guy took one look at it and said it was
the LEDs.

So I don't want to buy another of the same and have it happen again.
It's a nice feature but we can get along without it.

Thanks for your help.

I have a 99 jxi convertible and the mirror does not have any LED
lights. It just has two regular light bulbs like you would find in a
regular dome light. I bought them at NAPA for about $4 each. They are
available in more than one wattage. I got one of each and put them in,
so I have a "low" brightness and a "high" brightness.

I suggest prying off the two clear lenses on the bottom of the mirror
and actually inspect the bulbs, to verify what they are.
